My 2010 workshop schedule.
Starry Skies at Lost Lake
Saturday & Sunday, August 28th through 29th
Tuesday, September 7th 6-9pm (review session)
$185
Turn your camera to the stars this summer on this dynamic nighttime photo trip with fine-art photographer Zeb Andrews. You’ll learn to capture star trails, galaxies, and star fields with unique exposure techniques.
The beautiful Lost Lake, on the north side of Mt. Hood, will provide a spectacular backdrop for all the action in the skies. With Zeb’s patient guidance, you’ll learn to make the most of your photographs as you experiment and get comfortable with night sky photography. On Sunday, the group will head out in the late morning for the return trip to Portland, with stops at a couple scenic Mt. Hood area locations on the way.
The second session will be a review/critique of work created on the trip. Participants must be confident hikers.

Creative Camera Techniques
Sunday, October 17th
12-5pm
$80
If you’ve got shutter speed and aperture under your belt but need some practice to make perfect, this class is a great chance to solidify your skills. You’ll learn how to use manual camera controls to enhance your creativity and open new doors with your photography.
Class will cover long exposures, photographing in low light, blurring and stopping motion, and creating images with a beautiful, shallow depth of field to bring out specific details in your shots. You’ll also learn how and when to use a tripod for greater stability, and how to override technically “correct” settings to unleash your creativity and still maintain control over your final product.
An ideal class for those looking to broaden their view of the basics, this class is a recommended follow-up to our popular intro classes, Learning to Use Your Digital SLR or Fundamentals. Students must have SLR’s with shutter speed and aperture controls to take this class. Students should bring cameras.

One of the city’s most stunning architectural icons, the St. John’s Bridge is a study in dramatic shapes and patterns. With Zeb’s guidance, you’ll learn to turn a creative eye on this iconic Portland bridge as you refine your technical skills.
